ABOUT SAE
SAE-A is the representative body for Automotive Engineers in Australasia
whose purpose is advancing the skills and knowledge of mobility technology
practitioners within Australasia and to develop, collect and disseminate,
the knowledge of automotive technologies in order to advance these fields
and their practitioners.
The Society of Automotive Engineers is a member-driven organisation of
more than 2000 professionals and para-professionals in Australasia.

The Society of Automotive Engineers - Australasia (SAE-A) is the
public face of automotive engineering in Australasia. Its aim is
to promote the relevance of automotive-related technologies to governments,
industry and the community in general. Just as importantly, its
2,000-plus members are committed to the protection and betterment
of the environment.
Membership consists of engineers and other professionals who join
on an individual or corporate basis. They jointly represent the
entire spectrum of the Australasian automotive industry - vehicle
and component manufacturers, scientists, technicians, research workers,
designers, importers, government authorities, oil companies, the
vehicle servicing and aftermarket sectors, insurance sector and
students.

OVERSEAS ALLIANCES >>>

SAE-Australasia has a global outlook. It maintains strong ties
with many overseas organisations affiliated with the automotive
industry. It is a member of, and represented on the Council of FISITA,
the worldwide International Federation of Automotive Engineering
Societies, and is actively involved in the International Pacific
Conference on Automotive Engineering (IPC) which provides a strong
link with SAE's in the USA, Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Thailand,
Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand.
In 2001, SAE-A signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SAE-International.
