Brief Technical Specifications

Formula SAE vehicles are designed to be very sophisticated small racing cars. New team entrants should be aware of the following brief Technical Specifications of the vehicle and consider them in their deliberations to join the program.

Transmission 4/5/6 speed
Differential Conventional or LSD
Suspension Free (but with at least 50.8mm travel)
Aerodynamics Wings/ground effects
Brakes Free (but must operate on all 4 wheels)
Cornering 'G' 1.4G potential (prod.car 0.8)
Top Speed in Event 105 kph
Fuel Economy Measured as part of the design evaluation event
Safety Impact and Safety Protection features mandatory inclusion in the vehicle
Fuels 98 RON Unleaded Pump Fuel
